Call for reports…
Wednesday, November 12th, 2003
Okay…I’m nearing the end of yet another redesign effort. I’m now calling for bug, broken link, missing feature and other reports. What did you like about the site that isn’t there anymore? Did I add something good? Am I ever going to post photos?
In short, yes.
I’m on my way this morning to a meeting with the administrative council here at CSBS. We’re basically deciding on the marketing plan for the seminary for the next year and into the future…no pressure, you understand.
I’m excited about it, though. A lot of what I’ve been talking and thinking about here will be fleshed out in this meeting.
New features
Since we’re talking about the website and all…I thought I’d point out a couple of new things on the site. To your right, you’ll notice an ever-updating list of sites and other links I’m enjoying. The enjoying section is run by an MT category called, “enjoying,” which only posts to that part of the page. The weblog posts are run by several categories, all of which are listed at right.
The about page is also a new feature. I wanted people to attach a face with a name (for printing out, drawing mustaches on, and throwing darts at), as well as to put a little more information about what we’re doing here in Canada. I also have an updating list of recent work on that page, which I’ll add to as I get them done. Please let me know what you think.
Overall, though, I’m happy with the redesign. My folders are a lot more streamlined (which will make for a few link overhauls…please be patient, my family…the pictures are coming…) and the site hierarchy is easier to manage.
I’ve also added a forums section, which I’m still playing with. PHPBB is a great forums app, and I’m anxious to use it more here. I’d wanted to do a forum before, but didn’t know that I had the user base.
Now that I’m getting around 3,000 hits per month, I’m hoping users will foray into the forums a little more. I’m still thinking about how they could be used. I certainly can’t compete with Church Media.net, nor would I want to…but I would like to get more discussions going about marketing and outreach ideas (and to learn phpBB for other applications).
Anyhoo, we’re off to the meeting. Dr. Blackaby is about to arrive and we’ll be driving up to King’s Fold Retreat Center for the half day.
I’ll post details later. Pray for me!!
