An end to a hiatus…

The best laid plans of mice and men…
are often radically adjusted when a man realizes the ACTUAL amount of time he has to do things like, say, redesign a website.
I don’t know that it’s necessarily how the saying goes, but it should be.
For those of you just returning to doycave.com, or whatever it’s supposed to be called, know that this is a temporary (temporary in the sense of “it could be a year before I change it”) look for me, but I figured it was high time to just start writing again, seeing as the four faithful readers of this site are angry that my hiatus wasn’t all that short, and have threatened me with all sorts of boycotts, e-mails and fish wrapped suspiciously in copies of the National Post.
For those kinder readers, please know that this is all for you.
Since the hiatus:
- We’ve had yet another child, and are expecting child number four.
- I’ve just finished a semester of Greek at my alma mater, whose website has been almost as woefully neglected as my own.
- I have seen the latest episode of the Star Wars saga and found it mildly entertaining, and have caught myself wondering (A) how many people around George Lucas were telling him, “You are brilliant! This movie is awesome!” during the shooting of these films and (B) what hope Hayden Christensen has of shaking his new found reputation of being woefully “wooden.” I also wonder what the recent movies would have been like if directed by Marty.
- The rest is even less interesting than the previous list items, and mentioning them here would call for another hiatus due to depression.
So without further ado…welcome to the world of white space, where there are occasionally words!
I hope you enjoy them all…”Poughkeepsie” is one of my favorites, though.
