The Passion: 20 minutes after viewing
I have to say I’m numb.
I’ve seen one of the worst beatings ever filmed, and I can’t seem to get Mary’s gaze (which seemed to last an eternity), out of my head. It was like I was answering for his death with every minute of her direct stare.
I think the message was simple: Jesus was beaten horribly for me. His death meant my freedom. I’m responsible.
I honestly can’t say anything else at the moment. I really don’t know how to arrange everything I’m feeling.
I hope that will do for now.
