And who said Dell’s were cheaper than G5’s?

Friday, October 17th, 2003

This is pretty funny…just a quick one here. Bryan Bell posted an article from As the Apple Turns, which reports on the new supercomputer built at the University of Texas, consisting of 300 Dell Computers.

Turns out the cost of just 300 of the Dell computers came to $38 million, while the 1,100 G5’s at Virginia Tech (photos) only cost $5 million and are theoretically over four times faster than the cluster at UT.

Here’s Bell’s article in its entirety, which includes an excerpt from the As the Apple Turns article.

Oh, by the way, I got my new ride a couple of days ago.
