Oh, please don't misunderstand me about marketing, Dave. I haven't given up on it. Marketing isn't evil in and of itself. It's a useful tool for the kingdom. I just want to see it spiritually approached for the sake of the church. I really think the church is relying to heavily on marketing in place of the power of God to grow their churches, and the result is evident. At least 80% of all Protestant churches are either plateaued or declining. I just think our focus is wrong, and for the sake of the church, I hope it changes. Thanks so much for your insight...and Kevin...Wow! Thanks for your encouragement. Praise God you were blessed!

Doy, you have just blessed my socks off. This goes down as one of the top posts I have ever read on a blog. Thanks for your brutal openness. I am convicted.

The church needs a backbone to operate. Marketing helps provide that structure. My church operates more like a jellyfish for lack of a (leadership) structure that can encapsulate our mission and enable our action on it.

Stewardship in a vacuum can be burying your 'talent'. Don't give up on marketing, yet. It just needs to be used for the right purposes. Should we rely on faith healing and not on medicine?

Actually, I don't think I have it enabled in the HTML. I need to go back and add the MT tags for Trackback before it will show up, I think.

Try again, Phil. I enabled it awhile ago, and rebuilt everything, so it should work.

Doy,
Dude, you need to enable trackbacks! I just posted an entry on my blog related to this entry on YOUR blog... the trackback ping is set from my site, so if you get it set up, then it'll be there.
